There is something exotic about purple wedding flowers. The combination of blooms in every hue of violet, lavender, periwinkle and rich eggplant is at once romantic, lighthearted and daring depending on the presentation. I recently fell in love with the fabulous work of New England floral designer, Jessie Weidinger of Rountree Flowers, and I wanted to share some of her beautiful arrangements today.
Jessie named her business for her grandfather, Herman Rountree, an accomplished Illustrator who lived and worked in Rhode Island. Her bio reads: As a third generation artist in a family of painters, Jessie has taken her art from the canvas, through the garden, and into floral design. She creates pieces that explore the colors, pleasures, and paradoxes of the natural world.
This came as a surprise to me as I just got out of the hospital after having my appendix removed. It's funny how things work, the flare up waited till after my wedding and honeymoon to happen (THANK GOD!)
But it was such a sweet surprise to see I got Blog of the week and a fancy badge to go with it :) Definitely lifted my spirits (or maybe it was the vicodin combo lol)
If I had to describe my wedding in five words it would be, Charming, Whimsical, Romantic, Elegant and Beachy. If you didn't pick up from my bio that my favorite part was my Sandcastle Centerpieces, then you must know they were my pride and joy lolI collected the vintage real sand castles over the course of several years (even before I became engaged), and spent probably my most hard earned money on the large Apothecary vases. I wanted something unique to the typical beach centerpiece and something with loads of charm and whimsy. My mint green color, starfish, coral and sandollar embellishings finished the look.
I worked so hard to plan my wedding and keep the costs low, and I pulled off a wedding that looks like it could have cost two or three times what I paid for it. I send planning brides lots of **inspiration and imagination dust**, and am happy to help in any way I can!
